Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 23, 2026 · Last updated: July 23, 2026
1. Who we are
Nabber ("the app") is a macOS menu-bar application for taking screenshots and screen recordings, published by GrahamCo Developments ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app accesses on your device and, more importantly, what it does not do with your information. You can reach us at support@grahampyett.ca.
2. Information we do not collect
We do not run servers that receive your data. Specifically, Nabber does not:
- require an account, sign-in, or profile;
- include analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, tracking, or advertising identifiers;
- transmit your screenshots, recordings, clipboard, or browsing content to us or any third party;
- sell or share personal information.
3. Your captures stay local
Screenshots and recordings are created only when you ask for them. They are placed on your clipboard and/or saved to folders on your Mac (including the app's local storage under ~/Library/Application Support/Nabber). They are never uploaded. You can delete recent captures at any time from within the app, or by removing the files yourself.
4. macOS permissions
- Screen Recording — required by macOS to capture your screen. It is used solely to produce the screenshots and recordings you initiate.
- Microphone & Camera — not used. Recordings are video-only.
- Accessibility — not required.
These permissions are granted by you in macOS System Settings and can be revoked there at any time.
5. Browser extensions (optional)
Nabber offers optional companion browser extensions for capturing full web pages. When you trigger a full-page capture, the extension reads the current page's content only to render that screenshot, and sends the resulting image to the Nabber app over a local loopback connection (127.0.0.1) secured by a pairing token. Nothing is sent to us or to any external server. The extensions request only the browser permissions needed for this local capture, and are used entirely at your initiation.
6. Preferences
Your settings (such as keyboard shortcuts, retention limits, and the extension pairing token) are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS preferences. They never leave your device.
7. Purchases
Nabber is distributed through the Mac App Store. Any purchase, subscription, or receipt is processed by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive your name, payment card, or billing details.
8. Children
Nabber is a general-purpose utility, is not directed to children, and collects no personal information from anyone.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
